A Useful Place

We didn't manage a trip to the wood with Esther, as the Flying Refrigerator had a pain in its little inside; but here is a plan of the utility room. I have asked for a single sink bowl, and drainage by way of grooves in the bench top. I still don't know what the kitchen itself will look like.

We hope to have some more interesting pictures than this next week, if the forecasted bad weather does not prevent our trip to Runival for the Easter weekend.

Which side are you having the washing machine on? I thought you intended it to be on the left of the sink (straight in front of the door) because of the narrowness of the room. It looks in the plan as if it will be on the right, with the space for recycling straight ahead.

Second elevation appears to have an interesting corner for head hitting upon. Trust it will be above head height for tallest members of your family otherwise you'll never get them to do any work in there.

We had our new boiler a couple of weeks ago, which I was hoping to have in utility room, but this turned out to be illegal. Now in first outhouse. Water certainly now seems to be hotter (everything lagged better) and with better pressure (bigger header tank). Next big job, redo bathroom, with shower, but not sure when.

- plenty of headroom for Roy.

Why is your utility room illegal for boilers?

I don't know who this admin person is. Livy? The issue of headroom was extensively canvased many months ago. Our boiler substitute will also bee outside, but that is because we changed our minds about how we were going to heat the floor. Mary has her heat exchanger indoors. So what was the problem?

Yes Admin is Livy (can't work out why it sometimes has that as my ID).

The illegal utility room is Janet's not at the wood...

It's because we were going to put the flue out through a window frame. Steve had taken the pane of glass out and replaced it with heat resistant board. This is nuisance as he now has to replace the board with glass again, as there's no point in losing the extra light for no good reason.

The cats are wondering where the boiler's got to, and have now started sleepong either on Rose's bed (morning) or on the Jacob Sheepskin rug (afternoon).
